The Art School of Peterborough wins Holiday Window Contest

Congratulations to The Art School of Peterborough on winning the annual Downtown Holiday Window Contest.

This year’s winners are:
1st place — The Art School of Peterborough, 174A Charlotte Street
2nd Place — Union Studio, 391 Water Street
3rd Place — The Avant-Garden Shop, 165 Sherbrooke Street

“The Art School would like to thank all of it’s supporters in this year’s Holiday Window Contest, but most of all we want to thank our local essential workers,” says Jenni Johnston, Executive Director. “This year’s theme allowed us to create heartfelt decorations for our community to distribute to their essential workers to say thank you. We are truly grateful for their efforts to help keep our community safe. Please stop by The Art School and show your essential love by picking up a special decoration and deliver it as a thank you this holiday season, free of charge. This is a time when we all need to take a moment and pause and say Thank you. We are sincerely grateful.”

All judging this year was done online with the top three winners receiving $1,000, $500, and $200 for the top three window displays. Judging took place from Nov. 19 to Dec. 5.

“We have a lot of very creative businesses that put on some great window displays every year,” says Terry Guiel, DBIA Executive Director. “It’s nice to see so many people get involved and vote online. It’s a bit of a different year, but I hope people will get a chance to come downtown and appreciate some of these window displays in person. It feels very festive downtown right now.”
