Come and explore the charm and personality of Downtown Peterborough
Join local businesses participating in the 18th Annual Peterborough Pride Week
September 18–27, 2020
We know that it has been a difficult year for your business and we hope things improve soon. As we go through this tumultuous time together, many of us are feeling isolated and like we’re experiencing a whole new world. As a result we will be hosting a different kind of Pride Week 2020 from September 18-27 this year.
The theme of the 2020 Pride Week is “Pride in Other Spaces” in recognition of the complex realities of this time. There will be no parade or large gatherings so the challenge will be to connect as a community and LGBTQ+ individuals in spite of the fact that we can’t gather as we normally would during Pride Week. Plans are in the works for various community run virtual events and small gatherings that folks can participate in safely and explore Pride in Other Spaces.
Again this year we anticipate welcoming a growing number of local and out-of-town participants who are keen to patronize supportive businesses. We are hoping that Pride Week will again significantly contribute to the retail and tourism industries in the Peterborough area.
We invite all businesses to join the celebration in creative ways – decorate to show you welcome everyone to your business, or maybe hold promotions and events during the September 18-27 period that draw in the community and visitors.
