Downtown shoppers support Kawartha Food Share

Thanks to downtown shoppers for donating once again to support Kawartha Food Share.

The City of Peterborough’s parking division partners with the Downtown Business Improvement Area to provide 2 hours free parking downtown starting Nov. 25 on Black Friday and running through to the end of December. The initiative has been running for 14 years. During this time, all money put in the parking meters is donated to charity.

Join us Wednesday morning as the City of Peterborough and the DBIA present Kawartha Food Share with a donation from the patrons of downtown:

Kawartha Food Share currently assists more than 8,100 men women and children every month through 36 member agencies. This includes four meal programs, four City food banks, six housing projects, seven county food banks, and over 20 food cupboards across the City and County of Peterborough. Last year the warehouse distributed over 5 million dollars worth of food and emergency care needs.
