Every year a town anxiously awaits an event that will showcase it’s uniqueness and sense of community. For two months in the heart of summer, Peterborough Musicfest galvanizes a city and greatly impacts an economy with 19 free concerts. Popular artists such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Tegan and Sara, Walk Off the Earth, Doc Walker, and Colin James have graced the Fred Anderson Stage at Del Crary Park.
Held on the shores of picturesque Little Lake, Peterborough Musicfest entertains 125,000 guests annually, generating a $4.8 million boost to local businesses and tourist attractions. Featuring an exciting line-up of international and local artists, Peterborough Musicfest provides a well-balanced variety of music, appealing to all ages. In 2015, Peterborough Musicfest was recognized as a Top 100 Festival and Event in Ontario.
This 8-week summer music event is funded completely through corporate sponsorship, government support at all levels, fundraising initiatives, and private donations.
A tradition for many locals and a highlight for tourists and cottagers, Peterborough Musicfest is proud of the past 29 years and looks forward to celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2016! The sparks begin at Del Crary Park every Wednesday and Saturday night at 8:00pm, June 25 to August 24, 2016.
